Vijayakanth was born as Vijayaraj Azhagar Swami Naidu on August 25, 1952 in Madurai, India. His parents are K. N. Alagarswami Naidu and Aandal Azhagarswami who hailed from most prominent Balija Naidu family of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. He married Premalatha on January 31, 1990 and had two sons named Vijay Prabhakar and Shanmuga Pandian. Upon entering the film industry to pursue an acting career, he changed his name to "Vijayakanth", dropping the "raj" out of his name and suffixing "kanth," by director Khaja . He is nicknamed "Captain" which was taken from one of his popular films Captain Prabhakharan.

Vijayakanth has starred in various hits such as like Amman Koil Kizhakkaley, Vaidegi Kathirundal, Chinna Gounder, Vallarasu, Vanathai Pola,Sethupathi IPS, Ulavu Thurai,Periyanna, Kannupada Pokuthayya and Ramana, Neranja Manasu, Sabari. He was considered as the fourth major star in Tamil films after Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan in the 80s and early 90s till now. He is instrumental in giving break to actors like Mansoor Ali Khan , Livingston and Sarath Kumar .

He formed the center-left winged Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), a regional political party in Tamil Nadu. He formally announced party formation on September 14, 2005 at Madurai. His party contested in all 234 seats in 2006 assembly elections and won one seat contested by him.

Vijayakanth as been honoured with several allocades and awards from associations, such as Filmfare, Cinema Express, Cinema Studio, Malai Malar, Peasum Padam, Dinakaran, Makkal Kural, and the Mathi Arts Academy. In 2001, he was given the title and award of Kalaimamani from the Government of Tamil Nadu.

He was born in Katuru near Vuyyuru, located in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh on July 4th 1947. Ranga had a brother Late Vangaveeti Radha Krishna. Ranga was married to Rathna Kumari. Ranga has one son Vangaveeti Radha Krishna and one daughter Asha. When Vangaveeti Radha was killed by Communists Vangaveeti Ranga took over the charge of his brother's legacy. He became more popular in his own community Kapus. He became a demi-god to the Kapu community. He married Chennupati Ratnakumari . They had a son in 1979 Radhakrishna named after his Brother Late. Vangaveeti Radhakrishna. His entire political career he had faced many up and downs.

Along with his name and fame he has so many enemies lurking behind and waiting for perfect time to snub him to the depths. When NT Rama Rao's Govt. came into power Ranga faced death threats from his enemies. His security had been removed and he requested Govt. to increase his Security but Govt. gave deaf ear to his requests. Finally he went to death strike peacefully in Bandar Road. One day in the morning time when all Ranga's companions gone to their homes few gundas came by Bus and killed Ranga brutally. So many conspiracy theories floated about who involved in his murder. It is strongly beloved that Siris Raju was behind his murder. After his murder, so many darkest and sad incidents happened in Andhra Pradesh.In the history of Andhra Pradesh never happened before or after there was a loss of 350 crores + and it so happened that nearly after 15 days after his death people were not out of their houses. It so happened before his death that people of whole Andhra use to take his name and threaten and do businesses.

CONTRIBUTION OF KAPU/BALIJA/TELAGAS TO LITERATURE

Contribution of Kapus/Balija/Telagas to literature
Lot of Kapu Nayak kings themselves being great poets enriched Telugu language by encouraging many Telugu poets. It was a common practice of the king's son to compose a Dwipada poem equating his father with "Vishnu" in Madurai and Thanjavur Nayak dynasties as per the "Literary Cultures in History" by Sheldon Pollack . Two views, one stating the king as the deity Vishnu and the other stating the king as the human being representing an aspect of Vishnu had surfaced during the period of Sreekrishna devaraya. They became more obvious when the warriors/Traders from Balija caste became kings of Madurai and Thanjavur dynasties in the seventeenth century. Poets may have been allowed to use Dwipada style with the subject of the court being the king himself.

KAPU'S IN 20th CENTURY

Kapus in the 20th century
Though the Kapu community did have a great role to play in the various social, economic, political and cultural aspects of the Telugu society up until the 19th century, it has not enjoyed economic and political success after India's independence. They started getting into a steady decline except for a few sections of the community who adopted to modern education and economic transition. The decline peaked during the 1970s and 1980s. Off late with economic liberalization and with the removal of License Raj and government monopoly on sectors, the community is slowly but steadily rebuilding itself.
The Kapu community were slow in adopting the modern techniques of cultivation, education, business and politics.
The richer sections of the community primarily in Coastal Andhra took part in the renaissance but to a larger extent the middle farmers from Rayalaseema and Telangana could not take advantage of this because of not being blessed with natural resources like their coastal counterparts.
This resulted in a drastic decrease in education among the community in Rayalaseema, Telangana and North Andhra resulting in poverty.
Although socially still a forward community, lack of Government support by the way of political representation, reservations, welfare measures made the some sections of the Kapus economically deprived.
They currently have only about 5% representation in government jobs and services despite being about 12.15% of the state population.
They have only about 48 members representing both the Parliament and Assembly seats which does not represent the numbers the community has in the state.
It is of the opinion that both the major political parties, the Congress and Telugu Desam did not equitably allocate assembly seats to Kapus as per their population. For instance, Balijas, even after being a majority in the Rayalaseema districts have hardly any MLAs representing them in the State Assembly.[15]
The lack of strategic or collective decision making and disinclination to join politics are believed to have had a detrimental effect on the community. Off late, however, they are trying to consolidate their representation in elected bodies.
A large number of Kapus have diversified into business, industry, arts and academia both in India and abroad. There are also a number of budding entrepreneurs who have succeeded in different fields

ROLE IN POLITICS

Role in Politics
The community has the credit of Producing Chief Ministers for 3 Different States and has played a very Active role in shaping the Political Landscape of the Southern Indian States in the form of Periyar.

CHIRANJEEVI

Chiranjeevi (Telugu: చిరంజీవి) (born Konidela Shiva Shankara Vara Prasad[1] on August 22, 1955), is a popular Telugu Cinema film personality, whom many fondly call as the Mega Star of Telugu Cinema. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan award , the second highest Padma award bestowed by the Government of India. He is the only Telugu Cinema actor to receive seven Filmfare Best Actor awards. He has a huge fan following in Andhra Pradesh. He announced his formal entry into politics on in 2008 by launching the Praja Rajyam Party and participating in 2009 elections. He is a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly representing Tirupathi.

Chiranjeevi incorporated Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust on October 2nd, 1998. The Trust was set up with Blood and Eye Donation wings. Chiranjeevi’s devoted fans took this movement to great heights and are still working towards spreading awareness in the fields of Blood and Eye Donation. For the last seven years Chiranjeevi Blood Bank contributed 57,000 units on its own particularly to the people Below Poverty Line. The Blood Donation Wing has saved upto 3,500 lives across Andhra Pradesh by providing the required groups of blood within 30 minutes of receiving information.
While the state requires 5,00,000 units of blood per year, the awareness created by Chiranjeevi Blood Bank, pushed the availability to around 3,50,000 units which is a rare feat in itself.
Chiranjeevi Eye Bank has been behind 1460 successful eye implants. It also works towards educating the masses on the importance and need of eye donation.
An appeal for eye donation and blood donation is part of every print of a Chiranjeevi film. Chiranjeevi also ensured an unprecedented amount of space in the news and electronic media for these causes.
Today Chiranjeevi takes more pride in the knowledge that his Blood Bank saved someone’s life than the fact that his film has gone for a Silver Jubilee.
Not limiting himself to the fantasy filled world of films, Chiranjeevi has involved himself in various public welfare activities and acted as a socially responsible citizen…this apart from his own Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust activities. Once convinced about the authenticity and motive of a campaign, Chiranjeevi has always associated with it.
In 2002, he was selected as the Ambassador of Andhra Pradesh to the International Labour Organization. He featured in short films as part of the ’International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour’. He took an oath, on the occasion, that he would not advocate or allow directly or indirectly the employment of child labour in his films and stuck to it so far.

Chiranjeevi married Surekha , the daughter of veteran actor Sri Allu Ramalingaiah. Chiru has always been a family man - being blessed with two daughters Sushmita & Srija and a son Ramcharan Tej.

Mr.Prasad Chiranjeevi) made social justice in the Economy of Andhra Pradesh his poll plank and ran a statewide election campaign in the 2009 Election. He campaigned saying "Companies need CEOs who seek profit for their share holders and debt holders, but Andhra needs a social leader for its electorate", "Corruption needs to be rooted out", "I am not interested in laptops or pictures with Bill Clinton and Bill Gates"..[2] His party won 18 out of 294 seats in State Assembly elections and 8% of the popular vote. He won in Tirupathi but could not enjoy the same success in Godavari district of Andhra where he was defeated by some local candidate.Even though he started party to root out corruption,he him self is deeply drowned in corruption when it came to light that most of Legislative tickets were sold during 2009 elections in Andhra Pradesh.His party lost deposits in 240 constituencies and could only settle for 3rd post.Undeterred he is still running his party .Lot of leaders are moving back to their original parties and this leaves the party in tatters
