The community has the credit of Producing Chief Ministers for 3 Different States and has played a very Active role in shaping the Political Landscape of the Southern Indian States in the form of Periyar.
Rao Bahaddur Sir Kurma Venkata Reddy Naidu — Governor Madras Presidency (1936 - 1937) Chief Minister of Madras Presidency(1937)
Marotrao Kannamwar Chief Minister Government of Maharashtra (1961- 1964)
S. Nijalingappa Chief Minister Govenment of Karnataka (1956-1958, 1962-1968)
And there is always a good representation of Kapus for the Legislative Assembly in Andhra Pradesh although offlate the Community has decided to play a more Active role than a Passive one which it has been playing in the State by merely being a VoteBank. This has forced all Political Parties to look at representing the Kapus more representatively in the Legislature
